Job Description:

Position:
BMM is looking for Junior, Intermediate and Senior QA Managers to join our team. In your role as Manager at BMM, you will be responsible for leading a team of QA Testers. We are looking for people with proven leadership skills, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm new challenges and a track record for implementing process improvements.


Level 1 Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all testing is completed on the latest build and drives importance of retrieving the latest builds.
  • Notifies Test Manager to determine course of action during staff overages.
  • Ensures all defects are logged.
  • Provides bug summary reporting to client designees.
  • Verifies the quality of the requirements, including testability, requirement definition, test design, test-script and test-data development, test automation, test-environment configuration, test-script configuration management and test execution.
  • Stays current on latest test requirements, approaches and tools and transfers this knowledge to the test team.
  • Conducts test-design and test-procedure walk through and inspections.
  • Implements test-process improvements resulting from lessons learned.
  • Follows Test Traceability Matrix (tracing the test-procedures to the test requirements).
  • Owns scheduling of all assigned Statement of Work (SOW) deliverables.
  • Assigns work and test hours to Testers.
  • Ensures that test-product and test-process documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Mentors and coaches Level 1, 2 and 3 QA Testers.
  • Encourage, motivate and praise the team to ensure morale remains high and testers remain committed and invested in the project.
  • Responsible for the attainment of the team’s project goals, of producing all the deliverables identified in the client’s SOW and scheduling of the work to be performed on the project.
  • Responsible for the QA metrics including adherence to the test plan, execution of the test cases and attainment of the number of bugs.
  • Responsible for Tester conduct and should be ensuring that Testers are focused on testing, are performing their work duties and are not distracting themselves or others from their work.
  • Prepared to address issues of Tester performance and attitude. This should be done by making sure the Tester is aware of the issue, and asking them to improve and giving them guidelines and the support in order to allow them to do so. All of these issues and conversations should be reported to the Operations Manager and HR.

Level 1 Qualifications:

  • Graduated from junior college or higher, with a specialty in software development and/or QA.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in QA preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic that can work with limited supervision.
  • Leader, who leads by example and is a strong team player.
  • Must have good analytical skills.
  • Communicates in clear and concise manner, written and verbal.
  • Cooperates, collaborates, and works toward common goal with others.
  • Knowledge of gaming, mobile testing and/or web services is an asset.
  • ISTQB certifications are an asset.

Level 2 Key Responsibilities:

  • 2-4 years’ experience as a QA lead or manager.
  • Over five years’ experience in QA preferred
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic that can work with limited supervision.
  • Leader, who leads by example and is a strong team player.
  • Must have good analytical skills.
  • Communicates in clear and concise manner, written and verbal.
  • Cooperates, collaborates, and works toward common goal with others.
  • Knowledge of gaming, mobile testing and/or web services is an asset.
  • ISTQB certifications are an asset.

Level 3 Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentors and coaches Level 1, 2 and 3 QA Testers and Level 1 and 2 QA Managers.
  • Completes the same responsibilities as QA Manager Level 1 and 2 but on larger, more complex projects and/or programs.

Level 3 Qualifications:

  • Graduated from junior college or higher, with a specialty in software development and/or QA.
  • Over 5 years’ experience as a QA lead or manager.
  • Five or more years’ experience in QA
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic that can work with limited supervision.
  • Leader, who leads by example and is a strong team player.
  • Must have good analytical skills.
  • Communicates in clear and concise manner, written and verbal.
  • Cooperates, collaborates, and works toward common goal with others.
  • Knowledge of gaming, mobile testing and/or web services is an asset.
  • ISTQB certifications are an asset.
